I did enjoy the workshop day. I enjoyed helping out while waiting for the dance. I found that helping out helped me to learn about all the aspects of the film crew and equipment. Then when it came to dancing it was nice to feel part of a group. My favourite part of the day was helping out with the shoot and getting free sweets.
2. What have you learnt from participating in all the prelim tasks?
Our first task was to analyse a music video where I analysed Soldier Boy's crank that. This helped us to learn about the music video genre and how the video worked and the conventions behind them. Then we created a lip sync to a set song to learn about editing and how to create a basic music video. Thirdly we had to learn how to perform the dance routine as a group. This helped us to work together to create a smooth routine for the shoot.
3. Are you pleased with the footage and your edit? Is it how you expected it to look?

I am quite pleased with the edit as it does have a strong resemblance to the original, the flaws were more with the footage as many shots were blurry and then multiple shots have characters in different places to where they should be. Even with this I still think we made a very good final piece. From what I saw from last year I actually thought it would be a bit more accurate but i guess with a much larger cast it makes it a lot harder to make precise footage.
4. Do you think your prelim experience will impact next terms music video course work?
I think it will impact it a lot and I will make sure to improve on how I feel the music video could have gone. I will spend more time creating an accurate video to my plan, and I will make sure everyone is doing what they should be and putting their all into it. It is all about preparation and as long as I put time into it then it will turn out how I want and I will be able to overcome the obstacles.
